SEATTLE, WA (August 24, 2009) – GVA Kidder Mathews was named a Gold medal winner of the Washington's Best Workplaces award by the Puget Sound Business Journal at an event which drew 1,000 people to Safeco Field on Aug. 20. This is the third year in a row the firm received a medal, after placing Silver in 2008 and 2007.

The program was launched in 2007 to identify and recognize best practices in the hiring and retention of great people. After an extensive and rigorous process, which included the completion of surveys by nominee-company employees across the state, workplaces in four different categories were identified as Washington's best, based on their various employee benefit offerings, leadership culture and work/life balance philosophies. In total, 66 companies made the grade as finalists.

At the awards event on Aug. 20, the companies with the top three scores in the small, medium and large company categories and the top-scoring organization in the nonprofit category were given special recognition and featured in a special publication of the Business Journal on Aug. 21.
