May 8, 2009

Dan CronanSan Francisco, CA - GVA Kidder Mathews announced today that is has recruited commercial real estate veteran, Dan Cronan, to head up its downtown San Francisco office. Cronan was the managing director for Pacific Union/GMAC Commercial's office in San Francisco, where he was both the office's top producing broker, as well as, the executive director. Considered an expert by many in the industry, he has spent the last 24 years specializing in the San Francisco office market representing tenants including many prominent downtown law offices and financial firms. Cronan has been named Senior Vice President, Partner at GVA Kidder Mathews where he will continue his tenant representation work and lead the office's brokerage group.

"The local brokerage community took some notice when GVA Kidder Mathews opened in San Francisco two years ago, but since they've grown to 3 offices and 50 brokers in the Bay Area, I became intrigued. They have a good entrepreneurial culture and a progressive brokerage model that focuses on providing a platform and tools for their agents and their clients that is really unmatched in our industry" says Cronan.

In addition to focusing on brokerage, Cronan plans to recruit more brokers who specialize in all property types, including strengthening the office properties' group. GVA Kidder Mathews Managing Partners, Steve Bouret and Gregg Domanico, have been splitting their time between overseeing both the San Francisco office and the firm's Redwood Shores office. According to Bouret and Domanico, the firm already has a good presence in biotech, retail, and investment services in San Francisco, so they've been seeking a high level office properties specialist in addition to a day to day brokerage group leader for San Francisco. "Dan is a great guy to have on board, not just for his office leasing expertise, but everyone likes him, so he's a perfect fit to also lead the office", said Bouret.

GVA Kidder Mathews is one of the largest full-service independent commercial real estate firms on the West Coast with over 400 professionals and staff in 9 offices in California, Oregon, and Washington. The Seattle-based firm entered the California market 2 years ago and now has offices in downtown San Francisco, Redwood Shores, and Santa Clara, as well as 6 additional offices in Washington and Oregon. In September, 2008, GVA Kidder Mathews merged with Wayne Mascia Associates, in the Silicon Valley. The firm provides brokerage, consulting, property management, appraisal, construction management, and sustainability consulting services.
